Who can register for Teen Confirmation?

• Students in 8th grade or High School are eligible to register for the Teen Confirmation program at Christ the King.
• All Confirmand must attend two consecutive years of Catholic education prior to Confirmation. The required Catholic education may be through parish religious education classes or a Catholic school.
• Those in 7th or 8th grade who do not attend Catholic school should enroll in our Religious Education program in order to fulfill the above requirement! (Note: Registration for classes does not automatically register your child for the sacrament, one must attend the Sacrament Registration & Parent Meeting noted at the top of this page.)

What about High School Confirmation?

Do you have a High School student who would like to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation? Please contact Mrs. Kiser to set up an appointment to meet with you and your child in the month of August. Mrs. Kiser will map out a program to have your son or daughter receive the Sacrament.

When will the Sacrament be celebrated?

TBD by the Diocese, this date will be announced at the parent meeting.

What is the format for the preparation and how are the parents involved?

Parental involvement is so important to the spiritual growth of the children. When the family prays together and participates in faith formation activities together, the family grows stronger.

Is there a text/curriculum for the workshops that I can look at ahead of time?

We use a sacramental preparation program from the distinguished Catholic series, CHOSEN by Ascension Press. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the series, www.ascensionpress.com. This will give you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with this series.

What happens if we miss an important date/required attendance?

Sacramental preparation is so very important! There are no make-up sessions – this is why we have the schedule published far in advance. If you miss, you must contact the Religious Education Office immediately at 813.876.5841, ext. 2248. If we do not hear from you within one week, we will have to assume that you and your child have agreed to discontinue the preparation for this year. This policy will be strictly adhered to. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Truly, there is no better use of your time than praying with your child and bringing your family closer to God.
