Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry helps carry out the mission of Christ the King by offering a caring Christian presence to provide confidential emotional and spiritual support to people who are hurting. Stephen Ministers are typically matched with one individual going through a crisis or life difficulty, referred to as the Care Receiver. The care relationship lasts for as long as the need persists. If you would like to be paired with a Stephen Minister, please contact our referral coordinator: Parishioner Mary Ann Edgar at 202-368-3668.
Prayer Ministry
Hearts for Healing Prayer Ministry: Hearts for healing ecumenical prayer team has a three-fold mission; healing of the individual, healing of the churches, and healing of race relations. The ministry is comprised of men and women, laity, and clergy, from several denominations to help candidates for prayer to experience the love of God, through the Holy Spirit and to receive healing and to forgive from the heart. The Prayer Team is committed to praying according to the needs expressed by the candidate and according to the revelation and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This Ecumenical Prayer Ministry helps the candidate to learn the discipline of practicing the presence of Jesus during times of private prayer. Prayer appointments for individuals are offered here at Christ the King by contacting Parishioner Bernadine Wright at 813-966-7416.
Legal Assistance
St. Michael’s Legal Center for Women and Children provides legal advice and representation in the areas of Family Law, including child support, visitation, custody, and, under limited circumstances, dissolution of marriage. Even if parents are divorced or never married and no longer living together, they still need to work together in the best interests of their children. The family also needs financial support. These are some of the reasons SMLC also helps families post-judgment. Contact St. Michael’s Legal Center at (813) 289-5385.
