Choir Auditions

(Auditions held in the church choir loft — please read this entire page for Frequently Asked Questions)

Family Choir Auditions – August 23, 6 to 7 pm

For kids, teens — grade 5 thru high school — and their parents. (grades 3 & 4 permitted if accompanied by a parent or older sibling)

For the audition, each candidate will be asked individually to sing “Happy Birthday”. There will also be some ear training exercises. In addition, the entire group will rehearse a few songs together.

The Family Choir sings each Sunday at the 9 am Mass. Rehearsals are Mondays, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Note – choir singers should be up-to-date with their sacraments or in process

The Chant Choir & the CTK Choir Auditions August 25 and 26, 7 pm – (come either night to audition for either choir)
The Chant Choir and the CTK Choir are for young adults and adults (18+)

The Chant Choir sings each Sunday at the 7:30 am Mass. Rehearsals are held on two Wednesdays of each month, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. • Skill Level: Easy to Moderate •

The CTK Choir sings each Sunday at the 11 am Mass. Rehearsals are Thursdays, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
• Skill Level: Advanced •

For the audition, each candidate will be asked individually to sing “Amazing Grace”, verse 1. (see words below) There may also be some ear training and music reading exercises.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people will be accepted?
It’s important to understand our parish choirs are growing larger gradually after being disbanded because of Covid-19 restrictions. Thus, there are a handful of spots in each choir beginning this fall thru Christmas. In January, it is hoped to add additional singers to each group — Lent thru Easter and
Pentecost. (If you are not accepted for the fall, you may receive a tentative invitation to join the choir after Christmas.)

Is a Covid-19 vaccine required?
No, there is no requirement. People should use good judgement; those with compromised health should be cautious about participating.

When will I find out if I’ve been accepted?
Everyone who auditions will be notified by email at the end of the week, after all auditions have been completed.

What else?
Be assured, the auditions will be carried out with kindness and respect. All auditions will be recorded for working purposes only.
