Christ the King Catholic Church, a dynamic parish of 3,500 families in south Tampa, Florida, preparing to open a brand new youth center facility, is seeking a full time Youth Minister who will be responsible for coordinating a multi-faceted, engaging, and fun LifeTeen and EDGE program to lead teens closer to Christ. The Youth Minister must be willing to work closely with the Pastor and have the spirit and heart for ministry while reflecting the philosophies of the parish of Christ the King both in and out of the workplace.
The Youth Minister reaches out to all youth in the community, provides for formal catechesis, and invites and enables youth to serve others and make disciples through both small and large group experiences. The youth minister provides close communication with and mutually supports families of youth and collaborates with other community and parish organizations. The Youth Minister should understand and implement the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Diocese of St. Petersburg Office of Youth Ministry, especially those concerning the protection of the youth.
A bachelor’s degree in theology or religious education, or in an unrelated field holding Diocesan or National Youth Ministry certification is preferred. Several years of experience in youth ministry in a Catholic parish, or other proven leadership experience, is strongly preferred. This position includes frequent weekend and weeknight responsibilities.
Key Competencies
- A strong desire to develop relationships with youth to lead them closer to Christ.
- Ability to create and coordinate volunteer Core Teams to help implement Life Teen and EDGE programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications especially Outlook, and Excel.
- Capable of creatively promoting ministry events through social media and websites.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Full Time: Weekend and night hours will be required (e.g., for youth programming, summer camp, retreats, service days, etc.)
Must pass a Level II FBI Background Screening and attend Safe Environment Training.

If you feel called to help shepherd our littles ones, please consider applying! We are looking for someone who can commit to Wednesday and Thursday Mornings, and/or our Sunday Masses. Or if you can only commit to one Mass or two, we’d love to have you as a volunteer!

Daytime Maintenance, Part Time
Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa is seeking someone for a part-time maintenance and custodial support for the church and school. This position will involve handy-man repairs as needed, janitorial tasks as assigned and assisting staff and parishioners. Additional skills needed:
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Proactively and reactively cleaning and disinfecting
- Knowledge of basic tools
- Basic handy-man skills
- Attention to detail
- Professional and courteous
Candidate must successfully pass a Level II FBI background screening and complete Safe Environment Training.
